About six years ago, Ecowood customers asked us to find an eco friendly clothing hanger to use in their retail stores. We spent a lot of time trying to solve the problems of using reclaimed wood for hangers. It was a dead end, then one day while looking at a very cool bamboo cutting board, the light bulb went off. 

Why not bamboo? 

Rapid growth, easily sustained and beautiful, bamboo could be made into stylish, durable and very green hangers.  After finding a great manufacturer who would make our hangers to our stringent specs, we were off and running.  Black powder coated hook, (NO CHROME), and a soft non toxic wax finish, our hangers are a eco-friendly as it gets with plenty of style.  We buy from responsible factories that pay fair wages.

These are the real deal.  Beware of cheap, non green imitations.  Easiest way to spot them?  Look for the chrome hook.
